summer readingOK – so now that you know about the Summer Reading Program at the library starting next Monday, June 8th, it’s time to choose some books to read!

So as not to reinvent the wheel, here are some lists to check out for summer reading ideas – there are SO many great ones!

Start with The LA Times – Summer Reading Guide: The 136 Books You’ll Want to Read – this one is my favorite and is AMAZING! You can choose which genre you like and explore further by reading a little summary of each book – oh, it makes me want to stay home and read everything!

and then try…

USA Today – 25 Hot Books for Summer
Stylecaster – The Smart Girl’s Guide to Summer Beach Reads
Bustle – 17 Of The Best Books Of Summer 2015 To Keep You Reading From The Kickoff BBQ To The Very Last Day Of The Season
Publisher’s Weekly – Best Summer Books
Grub Street – 10 New Food Books to Read This Summer
EW – 10 Big Fat Beach Reads to Look Out for This Summer
Pop Sugar26 of the Hottest New Books You’ll Want to Read This Summer

This is just the tip of the iceberg – there are a zillion lists out there – even Bill Gates has a summer reading list!

If you need some help, we librarians at RRPL spend a lot of time with our noses in books and would love to give you a recommendation! We have bounteous books available here to suit your style – hardbacks, paperbacks, digital and audio.

Together, we’ll find the perfect book to savor this summer!
