Next week is Spring Break for most of the schools around here. Some folks are traveling, while others, like me, are staying home. I’ll be tending to a boy recovering from a tonsillectomy, so my days will be filled with providing ice cream, popsicles and other forms of TLC. The rest of you, however, have no excuses, so get out and take a hike! It’s our family tradition to take a hike on Christmas and Easter and we have so many places to choose from. The Cleveland area is rife with great park systems and trails, from The Cleveland Metroparks and The Lorain County Metro Parks to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Farther afield, Ohio holds so many treasures within a day’s drive.
To get you started, here are few books from our collection:
60 hikes within 60 Miles, Cleveland, including Akron and Canton
Doggin’ Cleveland : the 50 best places to hike with your dog in Northeast Ohio
Cleveland on foot : 50 walks & hikes in greater Cleveland
50 hikes in Ohio : day hikes and backpacking trips throughout the Buckeye state

Follow the Blue Blazes : a guide to hiking Ohio’s Buckeye trail
Happy Trails!
