Tuesday at the Movies

movieJust a quick reminder that Friday at noon in our Lunch and a Movie series we’re showing Life of Pi (2012, Starring Irffan Kahn; Directed by Ang Lee; Rated PG; 123 minutes). Bring a brown bag lunch and watch this Acadamy Award winning movie about a young Pi Patel, who, surviving a devastating shipwreck, finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with the only survivor, a ferocious Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. For more information, please watch the film’s trailer.

Eye of the Storm – DVD: Based upon an Australian literary classic, this film is about the dying matriarch of a dysfunctional family. Stars Geoffrey Rush, Judy Davis and Charlotte Rampling.
Monsieur Verdoux Blu-Ray and DVD: Charlie Chaplin stars in this film about a man who, in order to support his wife and child, kills a series of wealthy widows.
Day of the Falcon – DVD: Set in the 1930s Arab states at the dawn of the oil boom, the story centers on a young Arab prince torn between allegiance to his conservative father and modern, liberal father-in-law.
A Royal Affair – Blu-Ray and DVD: a Danish film nominated for an Academy Award about the the passionate and forbidden romance between the insane Danish King, the royal physician, and the young but strong-willed Queen that leads to a revolution, changing an entire nation.
Veep, the Complete First Season – DVD: Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars as a former senator turned Vice-President.
Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries – Blu-Ray and DVD: Based on a series of books by Kerry Greenwood, this TV series is about Phryne Fisher, a glamorous private detective in 1920s Melbourne.
The Borgias, Season 2 – DVD: More intrigue, more romance, more of the Showtime TV series about the famous Italian Renaissance family.
