Election Day is almost here!

Leaves are falling, the furnace is on (for some of us!), the Tribe is still playing (and hopefully will be World Series Champions tonight!), and only 7 more days until the election. More than 22 million people have already voted through early voting and absentee ballot.  If you are one of the millions of Americans planning to show up at the polls next Tuesday, plan to show up informed.  Voting hours are 6:30 am-7:30 pm. You can view and print your own personal sample ballot and find your voting location through the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website at www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us  Also, be prepared and bring one form of identification with you to the polls.  Acceptable ID in Ohio include:

  • A current and valid photo identification card (e.g., driver’s license or state ID) OR
  • A military identification OR
  • A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address.

Happy Voting!

First comes a Debate, Second comes a book!

Like many Americans, you may be planning to watch the first Presidential Debate tonight at 9pm between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. After all the dust has cleared, come check out the Biography section here in the library to read about the past presidents. Browse the New Nonfiction displays, I think I see a new book about Clinton and Trump every week! There are many titles on Audiobooks and the OverDrive and Hoopla applications in case you would rather listen than read.
