Movie Mania at RRPL

testamentThe library is the place for movie viewing this Friday and Saturday. We’ll be showing Testament of Youth on Friday, October 30th at noon. It’s a film based on the World War I memoir by Vera Brittain and it’s about young love, the futility of war and how to make sense of the darkest times. It stars newly popular actress Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington of Game of Thrones fame. Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times writes that, “From first to last, ‘Testament of Youth’ sweeps you away.” We’ll have the popcorn and lemonade ready.

There will be thrills and chills on Halloween Saturday when we have a day of films, starting at 10:00 a.m with Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein and ending with the classic Poltergeist at 3:45 p.m. We’ll shiver and shake while snacking on spine-chilling popcorn and ghoulish goodies. Check out the slate of titles and times here and feel free to come to one or all!

Hope to see you on Friday or Saturday!
