imagesTruth be told, I’ve been watching a lot of ‘futbol’ lately, so my movie watching has taken a back seat. Are you catching any of this World Cup? It’s been very exciting with lots of upsets and really close games. If you haven’t partaken, you’ve got the whole month of July to enjoy, culminating with the final on July 28th. To get you in the mood, check out a film or two featuring this popular world sport:

Shaolin Soccer
Goal!
Goal II
The Damned United
Kicking and Screaming
Bend it Like Beckham
She’s the Man
Fever Pitch
The Two Escobars
The Art of Soccer with John Cleese

MOVIE REVIEW: At Lunch and a Movie last week we viewed Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel. This caper film set in the 30’s in a fictional European country had us chuckling and gaping at the fascinating sets. I highly recommend this one.
