movieThe dog days of Winter are here – time to hunker down ’til Spring with food, family and flicks (notice my priorities!)…oh, and knitting, lots and lots of knitting.  I particularly like to use the dark, cold nights to catch up on or start a TV series that’s been on my radar. Right now I have Warehouse 13, a Syfy series, checked out, though I haven’t started it yet. We had been watching Fringe, but since that’s ended, I’ve been looking for something similar. I’ve also starting watching Breaking Bad, the much ballyhooed series about a chemistry teacher who turns to meth production – terrifying and addictive.

Here are a few titles that are being released today that the library has waiting for you:

Hit & Run – DVD and Blu-Ray: a man skips out on a witness protection program to drive his girlfriend to a new job across the country; they’re followed by the Feds and the guy who he put behind bars.
Here Comes the Boom DVD and Blu-Ray: high school biology teacher goes back into the wrestling ring to raise money for the music program at the school. Kevin James and Salma Hayek in a romance…anyone?
Celeste and Jesse Forever DVD and Blu-Ray: Can Celeste and Jesse, high school sweethearts and then spouses, stay friends after their divorce?
Alex Cross DVD and Blu-Ray: Tyler Perry stars in this adapation based on a popular James Patterson series.
Flight DVD and Blu-Ray: Denzel Washington is nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role in this movie about an airplane pilot who lands a plane in an emergency, but is deeply troubled.
A Late Quartet DVD and Blu-Ray: Philip Seymour Hoffmann, Christopher Walken and Catherine Keener star as a world renowned string quartet who are struggling to stay together.
Deadfall: a thriller with Eric Bana.
Little White Lies: a group of friends still go on their annual vacation while one of them lies in the hospital; in French.
My Worst Nightmare: Agathe and Patrick are complete opposites, intellectually, financially and culturally; their lives would never intersect except that their sons are best friends and her husband has hired Patrick to remodel their apartment; in French.
What Will the Future Be Like?: a PBS documentary about what new technologies will transform our daily lives.
Above Suspicion – Set 2: a British TV series based on Lynda La Plante’s books about Detective Constable Anna Travis.

Happy Watching!
