Oh well, better late than never is what I always say!

The Cleveland International Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday and, sadly, I only went to one film – drats and dangnabbit! The family and I enjoyed Sense of Humor, a French-Canadian film about a serial killer who kidnaps two comedians and threatens them until they teach him how to win over his lady love with a little comedy – very funny and quite silly.  Oh – and I did go to see that little film The Hunger Games that came out a couple weekends ago and…it wasn’t as good as I would have liked it to be. I thought the camera work was a little too jumpy and I didn’t think they delved into the characters enough to make it hit you in the gut like it should have. The next two films should, hopefully, have more depth – we’ll see.

On to the new DVD releases:

3-27:

A Dangerous Method: I’m looking forward to seeing this movie about Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked: oh Alvin! what have you done now?!
Romantics Anonymous: a French film about the romance between 2 shy people who work in a chocolate factory – sounds like a winning combination.
Eureka – Season 4.5: a sci-fi series about a small town where America’s best scientists are working on secret projects.

4-3

We Bought a Zoo: Based on the book by Benjamin Mee about a family that takes over a zoo.
War Horse: Based on the play and directed by Steven Spielberg.
Tyrannosaur: highly praised, this is an indie film about an alcoholic who finds redemption in his relationship with a Christian charity shop worker.
Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey: a documentary about the man behind Elmo.

Happy Watching!
