Today is “Follow Your Library Day.” Did you know we’re on Twitter and Facebook, in addition to our blogs?  Why follow my library you ask? Well, here are just a few reasons.

Looking for something good to read beyond the bestsellers? Our librarians personally have read and reviewed thousands of books and linked them in a reader’s advisory database The Reading Room. We post the new entries each week in this blog, but you can also search by similar authors, similar titles, or descriptors (think tags). When you find a entries by a librarian that has reading tastes close to your own, you can even limit your search by their initials. For example, if you like reading crime fiction or thrillers, try using my initials EJ in your search.

FACEBOOK  – Our Facebook page is updated continuously. Because it is the quickest way to get information to everyone, you’ll see the latest and greatest programs, fun facts and library happenings right here. You’ll even get tips on online services we offer to our cardholders like Consumer Reports, Opitmal Resume or BYKI language learning. Our Book News tab on Facebook gives you a monthly email newsletter signup for everything from fiction bestsellers to our latest offerings about new feature and independent films and even TV series new on DVD. We’re proud of our library, and hope that you are, too! Become our fan today.

And, don’t forget our Teen Facebook Page and blog as well as our training department’s RRPL Training Facebook Page for the latest information about programs in these departments.

Today is #followalibrary day on Twitter, too. We have posting for adults and even a separate childrens’ activities account. Follow our Twitter accounts at #RRPL or #RRPLkidz.
