Hmm, I don’t know. We had some decent weather for a few days, but it wasn’t really spring-like. There were no major holidays last week. No shocking news or events -that I know of… Nope, I can’t exactly explain why only two new books were added to The Reading Room last week, but every team can have slump in their stats, right? So while we’re in a bit of a stat slump, I guess I would encourage you to slow down and savor these books:
The October Country by Ray Bradbury
Over the Edge by Alane Ferguson and Gloria Skurzynski
Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary, Ohio! March 2, 2009

March 1, 2009 marks the 206th anniversary of Ohio’s admission day. Ohio became the 17th state in the union in 1803.
An interesting fact:
According to Ohio History Central: An Online Encyclopedia of Ohio History, during Ohio’s sesquincentennial it was asserted that the Congress had never formally approved approved Ohio’s admittance to the United States, and that Ohio was therefore not a state. For the rest of the story you will want to take a look at it here.
